The Zoho CRM AI Assistant counts each rep’s open new leads and proposes an even split of the ones still waiting for an owner, or a split by the rule you give. It changes lead owners only once you approve.
Zoho CRM AI Assistant is a Chrome extension that opens beside Zoho CRM. Tell it what you want to do in plain language, and it works with your CRM for you. Try Plus free for 14 days, then stay on Free forever.
the problem
An import or a trade show list arrives, and every lead is owned by whoever loaded it. One rep already has a full list, another is nearly free. Splitting them fairly means counting what each rep has, then selecting and reassigning the leads in small groups.
the solution
Say which leads to split and among whom:
The 24 new leads from the trade show are still owned by me. Count each rep’s open new leads and split these so everyone ends up with about the same number.
Zoho CRM gives every lead an owner, so “unassigned” usually means leads still owned by the person who imported them or by a holding user. Name that user, a Lead Source or a Lead Status in your request.
The assistant counts each rep’s open new leads, then proposes how many of the waiting leads each one gets, and which ones. You can change the split or give a different rule, such as by country or by Lead Source. It changes the Lead Owner only after you approve.

use cases
“Find open leads, deals, accounts and tasks still owned by users who are no longer active. List them by module. Then move Tom Hale's open deals to Lena Ortiz and his leads to Sam Becker.”
“Hand over Ravi Menon's accounts in the North region to Lena Ortiz, with their open deals and tasks. Add a handover note on each account with the open deals and recent activity.”
“Lena Ortiz is on leave for two weeks. Move her open deals to Sam Becker with their open tasks, meetings and calls, and tag them "Lena cover" so I can move them back.”
“The 24 new leads from the trade show are still owned by me. Count each rep's open new leads and split these so everyone ends up with about the same number.”
without the assistant
You can do this in Zoho CRM yourself. Here are the steps.
The counting is quick. Selecting the right leads for each rep without moving the same lead twice is the slow part.
faq
Only the Lead Owner of the leads in the split you approve. Status, source and other fields are not edited, and the reps’ existing leads stay where they are.
Leads that are not converted and have a status your team uses for new, uncontacted leads, such as Not Contacted. Name the statuses in your request if yours differ, and it counts those.
No. It is a one-off split of the leads you name. For leads that arrive later, set up an assignment rule in Zoho CRM; the assistant can help you create one as a separate request.
Yes. Give a rule, such as by country, by Lead Source or a fixed number per rep. It shows the split before you approve.
It counts leads as they are recorded. A rep with many stale leads still marked new looks busy. Its counts reflect the moment you ask; leads that arrive while you review are not included.
It needs a Zoho CRM edition and user profile with API access, and it can only do what your profile is allowed to do. This use case has not been checked edition by edition yet, so write to us if you want to check yours first.
